gnutls\_pbkdf2 - API function

**int gnutls\_pbkdf2(gnutls\_mac\_algorithm\_t** *mac***, const gnutls\_datum\_t \*** *key***, const gnutls\_datum\_t \*** *salt***, unsigned** *iter\_count***, void \*** *output***, size\_t** *length***);**

## ARGUMENTS

- gnutls\_mac\_algorithm\_t mac

  the mac algorithm used internally

- const gnutls\_datum\_t \* key

  the initial keying material

- const gnutls\_datum\_t \* salt

  the salt

- unsigned iter\_count

  the iteration count

- void \* output

  the output value

- size\_t length

  the desired length of the output key

## DESCRIPTION

This function will derive a variable length keying material from a password according to PKCS **5** PBKDF2.

## RETURNS

Zero or a negative error code on error.
