# gnutls\_cipher\_set\_priority(3)

API function

## NAME

gnutls\_cipher\_set\_priority - API function

## SYNOPSIS

**#include \<gnutls/compat.h\>**

**int gnutls\_cipher\_set\_priority(gnutls\_session\_t** *session***, const int \*** *list***);**

## ARGUMENTS

- gnutls\_session\_t session

  is a **gnutls\_session\_t** structure.

- const int \* list

is a 0 terminated list of gnutls\_cipher\_algorithm\_t elements.

## DESCRIPTION

Sets the priority on the ciphers supported by gnutls. Priority is higher for elements specified before others. After specifying the ciphers you want, you must append a 0. Note that the priority is set on the client. The server does not use the algorithm's priority except for disabling algorithms that were not specified.

## RETURNS

**GNUTLS\_E\_SUCCESS** (0) on success, or a negative error code.
