## NAME

gnutls\_check\_version - API function

## SYNOPSIS

**#include \<gnutls/gnutls.h\>**

**const char \* gnutls\_check\_version(const char \*** *req\_version***);**

## ARGUMENTS

- const char \* req\_version

  version string to compare with, or **NULL**.

## DESCRIPTION

Check the GnuTLS Library version against the provided string. See **GNUTLS\_VERSION** for a suitable  *req\_version* string.

See also **gnutls\_check\_version\_numeric()**, which provides this functionality as a macro.

## RETURNS

Check that the version of the library is at minimum the one given as a string in  *req\_version* and return the actual version string of the library; return **NULL** if the condition is not met.  If **NULL** is passed to this function no check is done and only the version string is returned.
