x11/gnome port module

## NAME

**gnome-module** – x11/gnome port module

## DESCRIPTION

This manual page documents the behavior of setting MODULES=x11/gnome in the [ports(7)](/ports/7.md) tree.

This module has full support for the *gnu*, *simple*, *meson* and *cmake* CONFIGURE\_STYLE.

If DIST\_TUPLE is set and the *gnome* template is used, this module will set default values for GNOME\_PROJECT, GNOME\_VERSION, WRKDIST, and EXTRACT\_SUFX.

If both GNOME\_PROJECT and GNOME\_VERSION are set, this module defines DISTNAME, SITES, adds x11/gnome to CATEGORIES and EXTRACT\_SUFX will default to .tar.xz if unset.

Unless NO\_BUILD=Yes, *devel/gettext,-tools* is appended to MODGNOME\_BUILD\_DEPENDS for ports built using [meson(1)](/meson/1.md) and *textproc/intltool* is appended to MODULES for other ports.

USE\_GMAKE is set to "Yes".

When CONFIGURE\_STYLE is set to *gnu* or *simple*, if none of AUTOCONF\_VERSION nor AUTOMAKE\_VERSION are defined, then "--disable-maintainer-mode" is appended to CONFIGURE\_ARGS. When CONFIGURE\_STYLE is set to *cmake*, "-DENABLE\_MAINTAINER\_MODE=OFF" and -DSYSCONF\_INSTALL\_DIR=${SYSCONFDIR} are appended to CONFIGURE\_ARGS.

MODGNOME\_CPPFLAGS and MODGNOME\_LDFLAGS can be used to add compiler and linker flags. CPPFLAGS="-I${LOCALBASE}/include" and LDFLAGS="-L${LOCALBASE}/lib" are always appended to CONFIGURE\_ENV unless MODGNOME\_CPPFLAGS or MODGNOME\_LDFLAGS is set to "no".

Certain build/run dependencies and configure arguments and environment can be set by appending desktop-file-utils, docbook, gi-docgen, gobject-introspection, gtk-update-icon-cache, shared-mime-info, vala and/or yelp to MODGNOME\_TOOLS. They are disabled otherwise.

If MODGNOME\_TOOLS includes desktop-file-utils, a dependency on *devel/desktop-file-utils* is appended to MODGNOME\_RUN\_DEPENDS and a link to /usr/bin/true is created under *${WRKDIR}/bin/desktop-file-validate*.

If MODGNOME\_TOOLS includes docbook, *textproc/docbook-xsl* is appended to MODGNOME\_BUILD\_DEPENDS. This option is used when the generation of the man pages included in the source tarball requires docbook XML/SGML/XSL definitions and stylesheets.

If MODGNOME\_TOOLS includes gi-docgen, *textproc/gi-docgen* is appended to MODGNOME\_BUILD\_DEPENDS. This option is used to generate documentation using GI-Docgen.

If MODGNOME\_TOOLS includes gtk-update-icon-cache, a dependency on *x11/gtk+4,-guic* is appended to MODGNOME\_RUN\_DEPENDS.

If MODGNOME\_TOOLS includes shared-mime-info, a dependency on *misc/shared-mime-info* is appended to MODGNOME\_RUN\_DEPENDS and a link to /usr/bin/true is created under *${WRKDIR}/bin/update-mime-database*.

If MODGNOME\_TOOLS includes yelp, *textproc/itstool* and *x11/gnome/doc-utils* are appended to MODGNOME\_BUILD\_DEPENDS. Furthermore, *x11/gnome/yelp* is appended to MODGNOME\_RUN\_DEPENDS if MODGNOME\_TOOLS also contains "desktop-file-utils" This option is to be used when any files are installed into *share/gnome/help/* or page files are installed into *share/help/*.

MODGNOME\_BUILD\_DEPENDS and MODGNOME\_RUN\_DEPENDS are appended to the corresponding BUILD\_DEPENDS and RUN\_DEPENDS.

Some tools require the following tag in the PLIST:
