gglyph(1)

A font manager for X

NAME

gglyph - A font manager for X

SYNOPSIS

gglyph [options] [directories ...] [files ...]
bar [options] [directories ...] [files ...]

DESCRIPTION

gglyph is a program for previewing and installing Type 1fonts under X11. Any files specified on the command line will be added to the list of provided they are Type 1 fonts. Any directories specified on the command line will be scanned for Type 1 fonts.

There are two notebook pages in the Gglyph window - the default is the page. It displays the on one side and the fonts (i.e. the contents of X11's font path) on the other side. Dragging an item from the available side onto a directory on the installed side will copy the font file to that directory and run the program to update the files in that directory, which X11 uses to find its fonts.

The second page presents a list of all the installed fonts, with some extra information about them.

Double-clicking on any font file will pop up a previewer window displaying a sample of that font (regardless of whether it has been or not).
