  Link with -lgearman

## DESCRIPTION

*gearman\_client\_run\_tasks()* executes one or more tasks that have been added via *gearman\_client\_add\_task()*, *gearman\_client\_add\_task\_status()* or *gearman\_client\_add\_task\_background()*.

*gearman\_client\_run\_tasks()* can also be used with *gearman\_execute()* if either non-blocking or background tasks were created with it.

## RETURN VALUE

*gearman\_return\_t*

If *GEARMAN\_PAUSE* is returned one of the tasks has "paused" in order to give the caller an opportunity to take some actions (like read data, handle an exception, etc...). See *gearman\_task\_st* for more information about the state of a task.
