# fors\_resample(7)

Resample input spectra at constant wavelength step

## NAME

fors\_resample - Resample input spectra at constant wavelength step

## SYNOPSIS

esorex **fors\_resample** \[OPTIONS\] FILE.sof

## DESCRIPTION

This recipe is used to resample at constant wavelength step spatially rectified spectra. The input frames are produced using either the recipe fors\_extract\_slits in the case of MOS/MXU multi slit exposures, or the recipes fors\_remove\_bias and fors\_flatfield in the case of LSS or long-slit like MOS/MXU data. Only in case of LSS or LSS-like data the SLIT\_LOCATION table is required in input. Please refer to the FORS Pipeline User´s Manual for more details.

In the table below the MXU acronym can also be read as MOS and LSS, SCI can be read as STD, and SCIENCE as STANDARD.

Input files:

  DO category: Type: Explanation: Required:\

   GRISM\_TABLE Calib Grism table .

Output files:

or MAPPED\_SKY\_SCI\_MXU FITS image Resampled spectra

## OPTIONS

- **--dispersion** *\<float\>*

Expected spectral dispersion (Angstrom/pixel) (float; default: 0.0). The full name of this option for the EsoRex configuration file is **fors.fors\_resample.dispersion** \[default = *0.0*\].

- **--startwavelength** *\<float\>*

Start wavelength in spectral extraction (float; default: 0.0). The full name of this option for the EsoRex configuration file is **fors.fors\_resample.startwavelength** \[default = *0.0*\].

- **--endwavelength** *\<float\>*

End wavelength in spectral extraction (float; default: 0.0). The full name of this option for the EsoRex configuration file is **fors.fors\_resample.endwavelength** \[default = *0.0*\].

- **--flux** *\<bool\>*

Apply flux conservation (bool; default: True). The full name of this option for the EsoRex configuration file is **fors.fors\_resample.flux** \[default = *True*\].

Note that it is possible to create a configuration file containing these options, along with suitable default values. Please refer to the details provided by the 'esorex --help' command.
