handle printable form request names

Part of [requestname(3form)](/requestname/3form.md).

## NAME

**form\_requestname** - handle printable form request names

## SYNOPSIS

**#include \<form.h\>**\
 const char \*form\_request\_name(int request);\
 int form\_request\_by\_name(const char \*name);\

## DESCRIPTION

The function **form\_request\_name** returns the printable name of a form request code.\
 The function **form\_request\_by\_name** searches in the name-table for a request with the given name and returns its request code. Otherwise E\_NO\_MATCH is returned.

## RETURN VALUE

**form\_request\_name** returns **NULL** on error and sets errno to **E\_BAD\_ARGUMENT**.\
 **form\_request\_by\_name** returns **E\_NO\_MATCH** on error. It does not set errno.

## SEE ALSO

**ncurses**(3NCURSES), **form**(3FORM).

## NOTES

The header file **\<form.h\>** automatically includes the header file **\<curses.h\>**.

## PORTABILITY

These routines are specific to ncurses. They were not supported on Version 7, BSD or System V implementations. It is recommended that any code depending on them be conditioned using NCURSES\_VERSION.
