## NAME

firestring\_estr\_read - read from a file descriptor into an estring

## SYNOPSIS

**#include \<firestring.h\>**\
 **-lfirestring**

**int firestring\_estr\_read(struct firestring\_estr\_t \****estring***, int** *fd***)**

## DESCRIPTION

firestring\_estr\_read() [**read**(2)](/read/2.md)'s as much data as is available from *fd* and will fit in *estring* onto the end of the data that is already there.  It updates the length of the string accordingly.

## RETURN VALUE

0 on success. 1 with errno set properly if read returns an error or indicates EOF. 2 if there is no space in the buffer for further reads.
