**void firestring\_estr\_alloc(struct firestring\_estr\_t \****estring***, int** *size***)**

## DESCRIPTION

firestring\_estr\_alloc() uses [**firestring\_malloc**(3)](/firestring_malloc/3.md) to allocate  *size* bytes in *estring*. It resets the length of *estring* to 0 and stores the size with the string to facilitate safe operations later.

## RETURN VALUE

None.
