# fdnsip(1)

resolve a hostname to an IPv4 address

## NAME

fdnsip - resolve a hostname to an IPv4 address

## SYNOPSIS

**fdnsip** *\<hostname\>*

## DESCRIPTION

fdnsip will attempt to look up a single IPv4 address for *hostname*. If one is found, it is printed to standard output and the program exits with return code 0.  If not, nothing is printed and the program exits with return code 1.
