## SYNOPSIS

**fastdep** \[options\] file

## DESCRIPTION

This manual page documents briefly the  **fastdep** command.

This manual page was written for the **Debian** distribution  because the original program does not have a manual page.  Instead, it has html documentation in HTML format; see below.

**fastdep** is a dependency generator  for C and C++ files. It generates dependencies an order of  magnitude faster than using gcc to do such.

 **Example Makefile fragment:**

```
_depend:
       fastdep $(SOURCES) > _depend
-include _depend
```

## OPTIONS

This programs follows the usual GNU command line syntax,  with long options starting with two dashes (\`-').  A summary of  options is included below.

- **-v** **--version**

  Show version, author, license of program.
