DESCRIPTION

This manual page documents briefly the emwinmcr,emwinser,sattopgm,utf2ps and emwinmcs commands. The most up to date version can be found at http://www.amrad.org/skywarn.html

emwinser, emwinmcs This daemon gathers United States National Weather Service data.

This is only useful to you if you have a source of data, such as a radio and demodulator or a satellite downlink setup for EMWIN broadcasts.

Both of these programs take arguments to specify the serial port and the serial port settings. The port would be, e.g. /dev/ttyS1 and the settings are a string of speed, parity, bits, stop, e.g. 9600,N,8,1 . emwinser takes data from the serial port and saves it to a directory of files. emwinmcs takes data from the serial port and retransmits it via Multicast IP.

emwinmcr This daemon gathers EMWIN data via the MBone.

This is useful if you already have multicast connectivity. It receives data from the network and saves it in a directory of files (the output directory ).

utf2ps Converts EMWIN graphics files from EMWIN data stream (GPHxxx) to PostScript.

sattopgm Converts .sat file from EMWIN data stream to portable gray map image files.

These are useful to further convert graphics in the EMWIN data stream into formats more useful to internet clients.

OPTIONS

The programs follow the usual GNU command line syntax, with long options starting with two dashes (`-'). A summary of options is included below. For a complete description, see the docs mentioned above.
