# eli(1)

compiler construction kit

## NAME

eli - compiler construction kit

## SYNOPSIS

**eli** \[ -c cache \] \[ -r \] \[ command ... \]

## DESCRIPTION

*eli* is a compiler construction kit that works on the base of **[odin(1)](/odin/1.md)**, a software build and configuration managment system. It works as a wrapper script, it sets **ODINPATH** to **/usr/lib/Eli** and calls then *odin* with all given arguments. Therefor see the *odin* documentation for details on the *eli* invocation.

The whole documentation for eli exists in the formats Texinfo, PostScript and HTML. eli has a builtin info browser. If it is correctly installed, you should be able to browse the info documentation with **eli '?'**.

The HTML and PostScript versions of documentation can be found in the **eli-doc** package (**/usr/share/doc/eli-doc/**) or online at *http://eli-project.sourceforge.net/elionline/*.

## OPTIONS

*eli* accepts the same options like *odin* (what a surprise ;-)). Here a short description taken from the odin manpage:

- **-c cache**

Use the directory **cache** as the cache.

- **-r**

Reset the cache. This deletes all computed files currently stored in the cache.

- **-R**

Reset the packages. This resets the cache and installs the most recent version of each tool package.

You can also provide eli commands on the commandline. See the eli documentation for details.
