# easyfw(1)

easily set up firewall rules

## NAME

easyfw - easily set up firewall rules

## SYNOPSIS

**easyfw**\

## DESCRIPTION

This manual page documents briefly the **easyfw** tool. This manual page was written for the Debian GNU/Linux distribution because the original program does not have a manual page. Instead, it has documentation in the GNU Info format; see below.

**easyfw** (easy firewall) is a program that allows users to set up firewalling rules for their system in a graphic way. It considers only a simple setup: a linux system placed as a firewall between an external and internal network. And provides some default settings.

It currently will only work if run as superuser, since it needs to read the current ipchains settings, and with ip\_forwarding enabled. Patches fixing this will be welcomed :)

## OPTIONS

The programs follow the usual GNU command line syntax, with long options starting with two dashes (\`-'). A summary of options are included below. For a complete description, see the Info files.

- **-h, --help**

  Show summary of options.

- **-v, --version**

  Show version of program.

## SEE ALSO

The programs are documented fully from the graphic interface in the Help menu.
