# dwarf\_lne\_end\_sequence(3)

set the end of instruction sequence

## NAME

**dwarf\_lne\_end\_sequence** – set the end of instruction sequence

## LIBRARY

library “libdwarf”

## SYNOPSIS

**#include \<libdwarf.h\>**

*Dwarf\_Unsigned*\

**dwarf\_lne\_end\_sequence**(*Dwarf\_P\_Debug dbg*, *Dwarf\_Addr addr*, *Dwarf\_Error \*err*);

## DESCRIPTION

Function **dwarf\_lne\_end\_sequence**() sets the address that indicates the end of a sequence of target machine instructions.

Argument *dbg* should reference a DWARF producer instance allocated using [dwarf\_producer\_init(3)](/dwarf_producer_init/3.md) or [dwarf\_producer\_init\_b(3)](/dwarf_producer_init_b/3.md).

Argument *addr* specifies an address value which is the first byte after the end of a instruction sequence.

If argument *err* is not NULL, it will be used to store error information in case of an error.

## RETURN VALUES

On success, function **dwarf\_lne\_end\_sequence**() returns DW\_DLV\_OK. In case of an error, function **dwarf\_lne\_end\_sequence**() returns DW\_DLV\_NOCOUNT and sets the argument *err*.

## ERRORS

Function **dwarf\_lne\_end\_sequence**() can fail with:

- \[DW\_DLE\_ARGUMENT\]

  Argument *dbg* was NULL.

- \[DW\_DLE\_ARGUMENT\]

The value in argument *addr* overlapped an existing line information entry.

- \[DW\_DLE\_MEMORY\]

An out of memory condition was encountered during the execution of the function.
