# drm\_mode\_object\_find(9)

look up a drm object with static lifetime

## NAME

drm\_mode\_object\_find - look up a drm object with static lifetime

## SYNOPSIS

**struct drm\_mode\_object \* drm\_mode\_object\_find(struct drm\_device \*** *dev***, uint32\_t** *id***, uint32\_t** *type***);**

## ARGUMENTS

*dev*

drm device

*id*

id of the mode object

*type*

type of the mode object

## DESCRIPTION

Note that framebuffers cannot be looked up with this functions - since those are reference counted, they need special treatment. Even with DRM\_MODE\_OBJECT\_ANY (although that will simply return NULL rather than **WARN\_ON**).
