dictionary control file for OOo

## NAME

**dictionary.lst** - dictionary control file for OOo

## DESCRIPTION

OpenOffice.org needs registering dictionaries, hyphenation patterns and thesauri before they can be used. All of them are listed in /etc/openoffice/dictionary.lst

## CONTENTS

**dictionary.lst** basically consists of four space delimited fields:

- **Field 1: Entry type**

  This field specifies the type of the "dictionary":\
   **DICT - spellchecking dictionary**\
   **HYPH - hyphenation dictionary**\
   **THES - thesaurus files**

- **Field 2: Language code from locale**

  This field contains the language code from the locale (en, de, fr, ...)

- **Field 3: Country code from locale**

  This field contains the country code from the locale (US, DE, FR, ...)

- **Field 4: Root name of file(s)**

  This field contains the "Root name" (filename **without** extension) of the "dictionary" (en\_US, hyph\_de, th\_en\_US, ...)
