# dhis\_genkeys(1)

Dynamic Host Information System (DHIS) key generator

## NAME

dhis\_genkeys - Dynamic Host Information System (DHIS) key generator

## SYNOPSIS

**dhid** \[**-h**\] \[**-i**\] \[**-r**\] \[**-p** port\] \[**-f** conf\_file\]

## DESCRIPTION

This manual page documents briefly the **dhis\_genkeys** program. This manual page was written for the Debian GNU/Linux distribution because the original program does not have a manual page.

If you're really paranoid about security or simply wish to perform things in a secure way, are using QRC, and your provider allows you to, an alternative procedure for key exchange is available. Instead of receiving your private keys by email (which is insecure) you may wish to generate your own pair of private keys and send your provider only your public key. In order to do this, run **dhis\_genkeys** and save the output in a file:

	**dhis\_genkeys** \> *mykeys*

*mykeys* should now have the public key necessary lines that you should submit.

The first 4, labeled AuthP and AuthQ, are your private keys (what you include in /etc/dhid.conf)

The last 4, labeled AuthN, are your public keys (what you send to the DHIS service provider)
