dh\_autotools-dev\_updateconfig - update config.sub and config.guess

## SYNOPSIS

**dh\_autotools-dev\_updateconfig** \[*debhelper options*\]

## DESCRIPTION

**Deprecated**: dh\_autotools-dev\_updateconfig and dh\_autotools-dev\_restoreconfig are deprecated and replaced by [**dh\_update\_autotools\_config**(1)](/dh_update_autotools_config/1.md) and [**dh\_clean**(1)](/dh_clean/1.md) from debhelper. Please replace all uses of dh\_autotools-dev\_updateconfig with dh\_update\_autotools\_config and then remove any use of dh\_autotools-dev\_restoreconfig.

dh\_autotools-dev\_updateconfig replaces all occurrences of **config.sub** and **config.guess** in the source tree by the up-to-date versions found in the autotools-dev package. The original files are backed up under the names **config.sub.dh-orig** and **config.guess.dh-orig**.

## EXAMPLES

dh\_autotools-dev\_updateconfig is usually called indirectly in a rules file via the dh command.

                dh $@ --with autotools_dev
```

It can also be direcly called at the start of the build (or configure) rule.

```
        build:
                dh_autotools-dev_updateconfig
                ./configure
                $(MAKE)
```
