# detrick(1)

tool to debug libtricks. As the environment variable parsing is rather complicated, it can also be used by users of libtricks to find out why libtricks is behaving the way it does.

## NAME

detrick - tool to debug libtricks. As the environment variable parsing is rather complicated, it can also be used by users of libtricks to find out why libtricks is behaving the way it does.

## DESCRIPTION

On startup, detrick calls a special function, \`vpath\_debug', made available in the libtricks library. This \`vpath\_debug' function writes information about the internal VPATH parsing to stdout.

**Detrick** can only be used \`inside' libtricks (that is, the LD\_PRELOAD variable must be set to libtricks.so.0.0, and to be usefull, the VPATH etc variables must be set to something complicated).
