## NAME

deblint - Check binary package for errors

## SYNOPSIS

**deblint** debian-package\

## DESCRIPTION

*deblint* unpacks the package and checks the contents for satisfying various criteria. It lists **Warnings** and **Errors** on standard output

## LIMITATIONS

If **deblint** is not invoked as superuser then the package cannot be correctly unpacked and the uid/gid checks are skipped.

**deblint** cannot check files that have been distributed over multiple packages generated from one source archive as debstd can.
