# ddj(1)

play mp3/ogg files listed in a MySQL database

## NAME

ddj - play mp3/ogg files listed in a MySQL database

## SYNOPSIS

**ddj \[ options \]**

## DESCRIPTION

This manual page documents briefly the **ddj** commands. This manual page was written for the Debian GNU/Linux distribution because the original program does not have a manual page. Instead, it has documentation in a README file; see below.

**ddj** (DigitalDJ) is an SQL based mp3/ogg player frontend. It is designed to work with [**grip**(1)](/grip/1.md). When grip encodes files, it can place all of the song information into an SQL database. DigitalDJ can then use this information to create playlists based on any number of criteria. Songs can also be manually inserted into the database using the [**mp3insert**(1)](/mp3insert/1.md) command.

## OPTIONS

- **-s,**

  Launch in "small" (cd-only) mode

- **-p**

  Start playing immediately

- **-t,**

  TV mode

- **-c,**

  Console mode (no gui)

- **-v,**

  Verbose (debug) mode

## SEE ALSO

[**grip**(1)](/grip/1.md), [**mp3insert**(1)](/mp3insert/1.md).\
The DigitalDJ configuration procedure is documented fully by the file */usr/share/doc/digitaldj/README.gz*.
