## SYNOPSYS

dbprocs start

dbprocs stop

## DESCRIPTION

**dbprocs** is a script that starts or stops housekeeping processes needed by ovdb. These are: **db\_checkpoint** and **db\_deadlock**, which are assumed to be in `$BERKELEY_DB_BINDIR`.  The **dbprocs** script also periodically removes old log files.

This command is normally called automatically by [*rc.news*(8)](/rc.news/8.md).
