DACS group administration

## NAME

dacs\_group - **DACS** group administration

## SYNOPSIS

**dacs\_group** \[**dacsoptions**\[1\]\]

## DESCRIPTION

This web service is part of the **DACS** suite.

The **dacs\_group** web service displays **DACS** group definitions and membership and performs administrative functions on them.

**Note**\

This web service may eventually be replaced by the **[dacs\_admin(8)](/dacs_admin/8.md)**\[2\] web service.

### Web Service Arguments

Besides the **standard CGI arguments**\[3\], **dacs\_group** understands the following CGI arguments:

*OPERATION*

This argument is required and selects one of the following functions. Additional arguments, if any, are function-dependent.

• SHOW\_GROUP\_MEMBERSHIP

Arguments: *GROUP\_NAME*, *JURISDICTION* (*optional*)

• LIST\_GROUPS

Arguments: *JURISDICTION*

• SHOW\_GROUP\_DEFINITION

Arguments: *GROUP\_NAME*, *JURISDICTION* (*optional*)

• SHOW\_ROLES

Display the roles associated with the caller.

• TEST\_GROUP\_MEMBERSHIP

Test whether the caller is in the group specified by *GROUP*.

• LIST\_GROUP\_MEMBERSHIP

Show which groups user *MEMBER\_NAME* belongs to, as known by the receiving jurisdiction. *MATCH\_JURISDICTION* (*optional*) can be set to limit testing to those groups defined by the given jurisdiction. *MATCH\_GROUP\_NAME* (*optional*) can be set to a regular expressions, applied to each known group name from any jurisdiction, to limit testing to those groups that match the given regex.

• CREATE\_GROUP

Arguments: *GROUP\_NAME*, *GROUP\_TYPE*

• DELETE\_GROUP

Arguments: *GROUP\_NAME*, *MEMBER\_NAME*

• ADD\_GROUP\_MEMBER

Arguments: *GROUP\_NAME*, *MEMBER\_NAME*, *MEMBER\_TYPE*, *DACS*

• DELETE\_GROUP\_MEMBER

Arguments: *GROUP\_NAME*, *MEMBER\_NAME*

• PURGE\_GROUP

Delete the specified cached group definition. *JURISDICTION*, *GROUP\_NAME*

• CHANGE\_GROUP\_DEFINITION

Arguments: *GROUP\_NAME*, *NEW\_GROUP\_NAME*

• RECEIVE\_GROUP\_DEFINITION

The jurisdiction receiving the request is being asked to cache one or more group definitions, passed as a groups element (**groups.dtd**\[4\]) that is the value of *GROUPS*.

• SEND\_GROUP\_DEFINITION

Reply with one or more group definitions (master or cached copies). *GROUP\_NAME\_LIST* is a comma-separated list of group names.

• APPLY\_DELTAS

## DIAGNOSTICS

The program exits 0 if everything was fine, 1 if an error occurred.
