## NAME

create database — create a new database

## SYNOPSIS

**create database** dbname

## DESCRIPTION

**Create database** creates a new  database.  The creator becomes the administrator of the new database.

## BUGS

This command should  **NOT** be executed interactively.  The  *createdb*(unix) script should be used instead.
