# costsh(1)

Cost interpreter

## NAME

costsh, costwish - Cost interpreter

## SYNOPSIS

**costsh**

**nsgmls** *document* \| **costsh** {**-S** *specfile*\| **-f**} \[*script-option*...\] \> *outputfile*

## DESCRIPTION

Cost is a general SGML post-processing tool. It reads an ESIS (Element Structure Information Set) stream (usually from an SGML parser, i. e. **sgmls** or **nsgmls**) and constructs a data tree. Then, a Tcl script can traverse this tree, and process and/or output data as desired.

**costsh** is an interface to Cost. **costwish** is a Tk-enabled version of **costsh**.

If run without arguments, **costsh** will present a prompt, and accept Tcl commands from standard input.

## OPTIONS

- **-S** *specfile script-options*

Evaluate the Tcl script *specfile*. *script-options* are available in the global list *argv*. This option implies **-f**.

- **-f**

Read a parsed document instance from standard input, then call the Tcl procedure **main**, if any, and exit.

## ERRORS

- 1

  Error in processing command-line options.
