# console\_unlock(9)

unlock the console system

## NAME

console\_unlock - unlock the console system

## SYNOPSIS

**void console\_unlock(***void***);**

## ARGUMENTS

*void*

no arguments

## DESCRIPTION

Releases the console\_lock which the caller holds on the console system and the console driver list.

While the console\_lock was held, console output may have been buffered by **printk**. If this is the case, **console\_unlock**; emits the output prior to releasing the lock.

If there is output waiting, we wake /dev/kmsg and **syslog** users.

**console\_unlock**; may be called from any context.
