# clUnloadPlatformCompiler(3clc)

Allows the implementation to release the resources allocated by the OpenCL compiler for platform.

## NAME

clUnloadPlatformCompiler - Allows the implementation to release the resources allocated by the OpenCL compiler for platform.

##

**cl\_int clUnloadPlatformCompiler(cl\_platform\_id** *platform***);**

## NOTES

This is a hint from the application and does not guarantee that the compiler will not be used in the future or that the compiler will actually be unloaded by the implementation. Calls to [**clBuildProgram**(3clc)](/clBuildProgram/3clc.md), [**clCompileProgram**(3clc)](/clCompileProgram/3clc.md), or [**clLinkProgram**(3clc)](/clLinkProgram/3clc.md) after **clUnloadPlatformCompiler** will reload the compiler, if necessary, to build the appropriate program executable.

## ERRORS

**clUnloadPlatformCompiler** returns CL\_SUCCESS if the function is executed successfully. Otherwise, it returns one of the following errors:

• CL\_INVALID\_PLATFORM if *platform* is not a valid platform.
