simple WebDAV server

NAME

chezdav - simple WebDAV server

SYNOPSIS

chezdav [OPTIONS...]

DESCRIPTION

The chezdav command starts a WebDAV server. This allows clients to access your files, and modify them. A simple Web browser is sufficient to browse for files. The default shared folder is the home directory, but you may specify a different folder with the -P option.

OPTIONS

-P, --path=PATH

Path to export.

-p, --port=PORT

Port to listen from. The default is 8080.

-s, --socket=PATH

Listen on the Unix socket at PATH instead of a TCP port. On Unix, the socket is created with owner-only permissions. The socket is removed when the server exits cleanly. This is mutually exclusive with --port, --local and --public. On Windows, this requires Windows 10 version 1803 or later.

--local

Listen on loopback interface only.

--public

Listen on all network interfaces.

--no-mdns

Don't broadcast the share on the local network. By default, shares are broadcast with mDNS/DNS-SD (when compiled with Avahi).

-d, --htdigest=PATH

Path to a htdigest file, to secure the server with DIGEST authentication.

--realm=REALM

The DIGEST realm string (must be identical to the string used in the htdigest file). The default value is "USER's public share" (where USER is the owner's username of the current process).

-r, --readonly

Read-only access.

--max-upload=SIZE

Refuse PUT uploads larger than SIZE bytes, answering them with 413 Request Entity Too Large and discarding the partial file. By default, the upload size is not limited.

--tls-cert=CERT

Serve the share over HTTPS rather than plain HTTP, using the TLS certificate in CERT. The file must be PEM formatted; it must contain the private key too, unless it is given separately with --tls-key. Without authentication, plain HTTP exposes the shared files and the DIGEST credentials to anyone able to eavesdrop the network, so consider pairing this option with --htdigest.

--tls-key=KEY

Path to a PEM formatted TLS private key, when it is not included in the certificate file. Requires --tls-cert.

-v, --verbose

Verbosely print running information.

--version

Print program version number.

EXIT STATUS

0

Success

1

Failure (syntax or usage error; unexpected error).
