# ccount(1)

program that counts lines of C code. Is close to compliance with SPR counting rules.

## NAME

ccount - program that counts lines of C code. Is close to compliance with SPR counting rules.

## SYNOPSIS

**ccount** files...\

## DESCRIPTION

The main output number from **ccount** is non-comment source statements (NCSS). It will also report the number of PROCEDUREs + FUNCTIONs, comments, blank lines, and total source lines. NCSS is estimated by counting the number of semicolons, not counting those in string constants or comments. A line that contains a semicolon and a comment will be counted in both categories.

## BUGS

[ccount(1)](/ccount/1.md) does not count macro definitions, nor does it handle if statements correctly. It could be easily fixed.
