## NAME

bbimage - tool to create filesystem images for BitBake

## SYNOPSIS

**bbimage** \[*options* ...\]

## DESCRIPTION

bbimage is usually called by bitbake and not by the user. It creates an image for a target device from a root filesystem, obeying configuration parameters from the BitBake configuration files, thereby easing handling of deviceisms.

- **-r** \[arg\], **--root** \[arg\]

  root directory (default=${IMAGE\_ROOTFS})

- **-t** \[arg\], **--type** \[arg\]

  image type (jffs2\[default\], cramfs)

- **-n** \[arg\], **--name** \[arg\]

  image name (override IMAGE\_NAME variable)

- **-v**, **--version**

  output version information and exit
