SYNOPSIS

ftpmount [options]

DESCRIPTION

auto.ftp program is called from automounter if you install it as a helper application. The options passed to it are described in the automount(8) manpage. The program will find the correct options for mounting FTP trees and pass them to mount.

SETUP

To setup autofs to make use of auto.ftp, edit the file /etc/auto.master and insert this line:

/mnt/remote-ftps /usr/sbin/auto.ftp

Replace /mnt/remote-ftps with your favorite directory, and create this directory. Then restart autofs with /etc/init.d/autofs restart. If everything worked fine, you can access any FTP ressource by entering /favorite/directory/ftp.HOST.com/pub or so.
