# amlabel-cdrw(8)

a hacked-up replacement for amlabel to label CD-RWs intended for use with cdrw-taper

## NAME

amlabel-cdrw — a hacked-up replacement for **amlabel** to label CD-RWs intended for use with cdrw-taper

## SYNOPSIS

**amlabel-cdrw** \[**-f**\] \[**--no-tapelist-entry**\] \[*conf*\] \[*label*\]

## DESCRIPTION

This manual page documents briefly the **amlabel-cdrw** command.

This manual page was written for the **Debian** distribution because the original program does not have a manual page.

All **AMANDA** tapes must be pre-labeled before they are used. **AMANDA** verifies the label in **amdump** and **amflush** before writing to make sure the proper tape is loaded.

**amlabel-cdrw** is a replacement for **amlabel** to label CD-RWs intended for use with cdrw-taper.

## OPTIONS

This program follows the usual GNU command line syntax, with long options starting with two dashes (\`-'). A summary of options is included below.

- **-f**

Force write. Don't check if an empty or unused disk is in the drive or if the given label is not on an active amanda disk.

- **--no-tapelist-entry**

Don't append the new entry to the media list.
