# al\_load\_bitmap\_flags\_f(3)

Allegro 5 API

## NAME

al\_load\_bitmap\_flags\_f - Allegro 5 API

## SYNOPSIS

-

  ```
  #include <allegro5/allegro.h>
  ALLEGRO_BITMAP *al_load_bitmap_flags_f(ALLEGRO_FILE *fp,
     const char *ident, int flags)
  ```

## DESCRIPTION

Loads an image from an [ALLEGRO\_FILE(3)](/ALLEGRO_FILE/3.md) stream into a new [ALLEGRO\_BITMAP(3)](/ALLEGRO_BITMAP/3.md). The file type is determined by [al\_identify\_bitmap\_f(3)](/al_identify_bitmap_f/3.md). If identification is not possible, the passed \`ident' parameter, which is a file name extension including the leading dot, is used as a fallback, if it is not NULL.

The flags parameter is the same as for [al\_load\_bitmap\_flags(3)](/al_load_bitmap_flags/3.md).

Returns NULL on error. The file remains open afterwards.

*Note:* the core Allegro library does not support any image file formats by default. You must use the allegro\_image addon, or register your own format handler.
