## NAME

**afstool** – tool for AFS maintence

## SYNOPSIS

**afstool** *command* \[*args*\]

## DESCRIPTION

The **afstool** probes, display, modifies and maintain the **AFS** system

The commands are:

- **cachemanager** **localcell**

  - **cachemanager** **whoareyou**

  - **fileserver** **flushcps**

  - **fileserver** **getcapabilities**

  - **fileserver** **gettime**

  - **version**

  - **ubik** **debug**

  For each subclass there are some common commands

- **apropos**

  - **help**

  All the detail of the commands  **afstool** commands:

- **cachemanager** **localcell**

  \[**--port** *portnumber*\] \[**--cell** *cellname*\] \[**--no-auth**\] *host* *...*

  Query a callback manager on *hostname* (or localhost if not given) for the local cellname on *port* is default 7001 (the port arlad is using).

- **cachemanager** **whoareyou**

  \[**--port** *portnumber*\] \[**--cell** *cellname*\] \[**--no-auth**\] *hostname* *...*

  Query a callback manager on *hostname* (or localhost if not given) for interface information. The *port* is default 7001 (the port arlad is using).

- **fileserver** **flushcps**

  \[**--hosts=cache-managers**\] \[**--viceids=vice-ids**\] \[**--cell=cellname**\] \[**--no-auth**\] \[**--verbose**\] *host* *...*

  Flush the Current Protection Set (CPS) from the fileserver either specifed by AFS user-id (viceid) or hostname/address of cache-managers.

- **fileserver** **getcapabilities**

  \[**--cell=cellname**\] \[**--no-auth**\] \[**--verbose**\] *host* *...*

  Displays the capabilities of the fileserver.

- **fileserver** **gettime**

  \[**--cell=cellname**\] \[**--no-auth**\] \[**--verbose**\] *host* *...*

  Fetches the time from the fileserver.

- **version**

  Display the version number of **afstool**

- **ubik** **debug**

  \[**--port=portname**\] \[**--cell=cellname**\] \[**--no-auth**\] \[**--verbose**\] *host* *...*

  print ubik debug information from ubik voting service. Common ubik servers are running on the **afs3-prserver** **(7002),** and **afs3-vlserver** **(7003).**
