# acpi\_einj(4)

ACPI platform error injection module

## NAME

**acpi\_einj** – ACPI platform error injection module

## SYNOPSIS

**#include \<dev/acpica/acpiio.h\>**

## DESCRIPTION

The **acpi\_einj** modules provides support for the error injection facility from the ACPI Platform Error Interface (APEI). This module parses the EINJ table to construct a list of instructions associated with actions. The module provides several [ioctl(2)](/ioctl/2.md) commands on the */dev/acpi* character device used by the [einj(8)](/einj/8.md) utility.

## IOCTLS

The following commands are supported:

- ACPIIO\_EINJ\_GET\_INFO

Returns a *struct* *acpi\_einj\_info* object to the caller.

- ACPIIO\_EINJ\_GET\_VENDOR

If the host supports the **SET\_ERROR\_TYPE\_WITH\_ADDRESS** command that includes a vendor extension structure, this command stores a copy of the vendor extension structure in the buffer described by the caller-provided *struct* *acpi\_einj\_vendor\_info*.

- ACPIIO\_EINJ\_SET\_ERROR

Injects a platform error described by a *struct* *acpi\_einj\_error* object provided by the caller.

## FILES

- */boot/kernel/acpi\_einj.ko*
