eye-candy for the LINUX-Console

NAME

acidwarp - eye-candy for the LINUX-Console

SYNOPSIS

acidwarp [ options ]

DESCRIPTION

acidwarp is an eye-candy program that runs on the LINUX-Console. To access the VGA-modes, acidwarp uses SVGAlib. Because the SVGALIB needs read and write permissions to /dev/mem (that should be only read- and writeable by root for security reasons), acidwarp must be run setuid root. If not, acidwarp can not get the required I/O-Permissions!

COMMAND-LINE OPTIONS

No options are necessary. Just type acidwarp and watch the show. However, you can give the following arguments at the command-line:

-d --delay seconds

Specifies the number of seconds to delay each picture. Defaults to 20.

-h --help

Prints a help screen.

-n --nologo

Tells acidwarp not to display the logo at starup.

-r --resolution res

Specifies the resolution at which acidwarp should run. This option should be followed by a number, either 1, 2 or 3, indicating what resolution to use. 1 indicates 640x480, 2 indicates 800x600, and 3 indicates 1024x768. NOTE: it can take a while to generate an image at higher resolutions, especially on slower machines.

-s --speed microseconds

Specifies the speed of the palette rotation. Defaults to 25000.

-w --warper

Prints a text file explaining how to build "The Warper".
