## NAME

**SHIsExpandableFolder** (SHLWAPI.195)

## SYNOPSIS

HRESULT SHIsExpandableFolder\
  (\
   LPSHELLFOLDER *lpFolder*,\
   LPCITEMIDLIST *pidl*\
  )

## DESCRIPTION

Determine if a shell folder can be expanded.

## PARAMS

*lpFolder* **\[In\]**  Parent folder containing the object to test.

*pidl* **\[In\]**  Id of the object to test.

## RETURNS

**Success:** **S\_OK**, if the object is expandable, **S\_FALSE** otherwise.

**Failure:** **E\_INVALIDARG**, if any argument is invalid.

## NOTES

If the object to be tested does not expose the **IQueryInfo(3w)** interface it will not be identified as an expandable folder.

## IMPLEMENTATION

Exported by ordinal only. Use **[GetProcAddress(3w)](/GetProcAddress/3w.md)** to obtain a pointer to the function.
