Get the properties associated with a process.

**SDL\_PropertiesID SDL\_GetProcessProperties(SDL\_Process \*process);**

## DESCRIPTION

The following read-only properties are provided by SDL:

•  **SDL\_PROP\_PROCESS\_PID\_NUMBER** : the process\
   ID of the process.

•  **SDL\_PROP\_PROCESS\_STDIN\_POINTER** : an

**SDL\_IOStream**\
  that can be used to write input to the\
   process, if it was created with

**SDL\_PROP\_PROCESS\_CREATE\_STDIN\_NUMBER** set to  **SDL\_PROCESS\_STDIO\_APP** .

•  **SDL\_PROP\_PROCESS\_STDOUT\_POINTER** : a\
   non-blocking  **SDL\_IOStream**\
  that can be used to read output\
   from the process, if it was created with

**SDL\_PROP\_PROCESS\_CREATE\_STDOUT\_NUMBER** set to  **SDL\_PROCESS\_STDIO\_APP** .

•  **SDL\_PROP\_PROCESS\_STDERR\_POINTER** : a\
   non-blocking  **SDL\_IOStream**\
  that can be used to read error\
   output from the process, if it was created with

**SDL\_PROP\_PROCESS\_CREATE\_STDERR\_NUMBER** set to  **SDL\_PROCESS\_STDIO\_APP** .

•  **SDL\_PROP\_PROCESS\_BACKGROUND\_BOOLEAN** :\
   true if the process is running in the background.

## FUNCTION PARAMETERS

- *process*

  the process to query.

## RETURN VALUE

( **SDL\_PropertiesID** ) Returns a valid property ID on success or 0 on failure; call  **SDL\_GetError** () for more information.

## THREAD SAFETY

It is safe to call this function from any thread.

## AVAILABILITY

This function is available since SDL 3.2.0.
