## DESCRIPTION

Registers a window with the system so that it will receive notifications about a device.

## PARAMS

*hRecepient* **\[In\]**  Window or service status handle that will receive notifications.

*pNotificationFilter* **\[In\]**  **DEV\_BROADCAST\_HDR** followed by some type-specific data.

*dwFlags* **\[In\]**  See notes.

## RETURNS

A handle to the device notification.

## NOTES

The *dwFlags* parameter can be one of two values: \
\
  DEVICE\_NOTIFY\_WINDOW\_HANDLE  - hRecepient is a window handle\
\
  DEVICE\_NOTIFY\_SERVICE\_HANDLE - hRecepient is a service status handle
