## NAME

PR\_GET\_TAGGED\_ADDR\_CTRL - get the tagged address mode for the calling thread

## LIBRARY

Standard C library (*libc*, *-lc*)

## SYNOPSIS

```
#include <linux/prctl.h>  /* Definition of PR_* constants */
#include <sys/prctl.h>
```

**int prctl(PR\_GET\_TAGGED\_ADDR\_CTRL, 0L, 0L, 0L, 0L);**

## DESCRIPTION

Returns the current tagged address mode for the calling thread.

The call returns a nonnegative value describing the current tagged address mode, encoded in the same way as the *mode* argument of [**PR\_SET\_TAGGED\_ADDR\_CTRL**(2const)](/PR_SET_TAGGED_ADDR_CTRL/2const.md).

## RETURN VALUE

On success, this call returns the nonnegative value described above. On error, -1 is returned, and *errno* is set to indicate the error.
