# Net::AMQP::Common(3pm)

A collection of exportable tools for AMQP (de)serialization

## NAME

Net::AMQP::Common - A collection of exportable tools for AMQP (de)serialization

## SYNOPSIS

```
  use Net::AMQP::Common qw(:all)
```

## EXPORTABLE METHODS

The following are available for exporting by name or by ':all'. All the 'pack\_\*' methods take a single argument and return a binary string. All the 'unpack\_\*' methods take a scalar ref and return a perl data structure of some type, consuming some data from the scalar ref.

- *pack\_octet*

  - *unpack\_octet*

  - *pack\_short\_integer*

  - *unpack\_short\_integer*

  - *pack\_long\_integer*

  - *unpack\_long\_integer*

  - *pack\_long\_long\_integer*

  - *unpack\_long\_long\_integer*

  - *pack\_unsigned\_short\_integer*

  - *unpack\_unsigned\_short\_integer*

  - *pack\_unsigned\_long\_integer*

  - *unpack\_unsigned\_long\_integer*

  - *pack\_unsigned\_long\_long\_integer*

  - *unpack\_unsigned\_long\_long\_integer*

  - *pack\_timestamp*

  - *unpack\_timestamp*

  - *pack\_boolean*

  - *unpack\_boolean*

  - *pack\_short\_string*

  - *unpack\_short\_string*

  - *pack\_field\_table*

  - *unpack\_field\_table*

  - *pack\_field\_array*

  Tables and arrays sometimes require explicit typing. See Net::AMQP::Value. Also, in tables and arrays booleans from the boolean module are sent as AMQP booleans.

- *unpack\_field\_array*

  - *%data\_type\_map*

  A mapping of the XML spec's data type names to our names ('longstr' =\> 'long\_string')

- *show\_ascii*

  A helper routine that, given a binary string, returns a string of each byte represented by '\\###', base 10 numbering.
