# IO.reopen(3kaya)

Re-open a file.

## NAME

IO::reopen - Re-open a file.

## SYNOPSIS

**File reopen(** *String fname, \[FileMode\] mode, File f* **)**

## ARGUMENTS

**fname** The file name

**mode** A list of file modes

**f** The existing file handle

## DESCRIPTION

Re-open a file. This functions exactly like **IO.open (3kaya)** except that rather than opening a new file, it changes an existing file handle. This is mainly useful for re-opening the standard input, output and error streams on a different file.

-

   in = reopen("inputscript",\[Read\],stdin);
