## NAME

IO::file - Create a File from a pointer

## SYNOPSIS

**File file(** *Ptr ptr, \[FileMode\] mode=\[Read, Write, Append\]* **)**

## ARGUMENTS

**ptr** The pointer

**mode** The file mode, if known. This should be set if possible.

## DESCRIPTION

This coerces a pointer to a C file handle into a **File** \
  This function is intended solely for writing interfaces to C code that returns file handles, and should not be used for other purposes.
