## NAME - Gtk\_Window

## HEADER REQUIRED

**#include \<gtk--/window.h>\>**

## BASE CLASSES

[Gtk\_Bin(3)](/Gtk_Bin/3.md)

## DERIVED BY

[Gtk\_ColorSelectionDialog(3)](/Gtk_ColorSelectionDialog/3.md) [Gtk\_Dialog(3)](/Gtk_Dialog/3.md) [Gtk\_FileSelection(3)](/Gtk_FileSelection/3.md) [Gtk\_FontSelectionDialog(3)](/Gtk_FontSelectionDialog/3.md) [Gtk\_Plug(3)](/Gtk_Plug/3.md)

## PROPERTIES

- *title*

 Type: \_gtk\_string\
 Set: **set\_title**()\

-

Title displayed by window manager for this window. 0 is means this window has no title.

-

Windows with a *type* of {num GTK\_WINDOW\_POPUP} may not display a title even if set.\

- *wmclass\_name*

 Type: \_gtk\_string\
 Set: **set\_wmclass**()\

-

Property used for X window manager.\

- *wmclass\_class*

 Type: \_gtk\_string\
 Set: **set\_wmclass**()\

-

Property used for X window manager.\

- *type*

 Type: GtkWindowType\

-

This flags determine what kind of decorations and behavior this window gets. This information is given to the window manager

 and it determines how to show the window on the screen. See {page GtkWindowType}

-

 Possible values for GtkWindowType argument are: {num GTK\_WINDOW\_TOPLEVEL}, {num GTK\_WINDOW\_DIALOG}, {num GTK\_WINDOW\_POPUP} \

- *focus\_widget*

 Type: Gtk\_Widget\*\

- *default\_widget*

 Type: Gtk\_Widget\*\

- *transient\_parent*

 Type: Gtk\_Window\*\

- *resize\_count*

 Type: gushort\

- *allow\_shrink*

 Type: guint:1\
 Set: **set\_policy**()\

-

Indicates if shrinking this window is allowed.\

- *allow\_grow*

 Type: guint:1\
 Set: **set\_policy**()\

-

Indicates if expanding this window is allowed.\

- *auto\_shrink*

 Type: guint:1\
 Set: **set\_policy**()\

- *handling\_resize*

 Type: guint:1\

- *position*

 Type: guint:2\

-

 Determine where the window will be displayed when it is finally drawn to the screen. Currently the following positions and the effect they have on window placement can be specified. See {page GtkWindowPosition}

-

 Possible states are: {num GTK\_WIN\_POS\_NONE}, {num GTK\_WIN\_POS\_CENTER}, {num GTK\_WIN\_POS\_MOUSE}\

- *use\_uposition*

 Type: guint:1\

-

The following flag is initially TRUE when a window is mapped. and will be set to FALSE after it is first positioned. It is also temporarily reset when the window's size changes.

-

When TRUE, we move the window to the position the app set.

- *modal*

 Type: guint:1\
 Set: **set\_modal**()\

-

A modal window is one that must be responded to before the user is allowed to return to the application. Use modal windows sparingly.
