# GENLIB\_SAVE\_PHFIG(3)

save a layout on disk

## NAME

GENLIB\_SAVE\_PHFIG - save a layout on disk

## SYNOPSYS

```
#include <genlib.h>
void GENLIB_SAVE_PHFIG();
```

## DESCRIPTION

**SAVE\_PHFIG** saves the current working figure previously definded by a **DEF\_PHFIG** call. **SAVE\_PHFIG** uses environment variables to choose the file format and the path to the file.\
 **MBK\_OUT\_PH** set up the output file format, the valid ones beeing :

**cp**\
 **ap**

you could for example do :

**setenv MBK\_OUT\_PH ap**

**MBK\_WORK\_LIB** set up the output file path. Any valid unix path is ok.\
 for example :

	**setenv MBK\_WORK\_LIB ~fred/booth/genlib**

**SAVE\_PHFIG** doesn't look on disk for the figure *cellname*, so be careful not to overwrite an existing file while saving.

## ERROR

**"GENLIB\_SAVE\_PHFIG impossible : missing GENLIB\_DEF\_PHFIG"**

No figure has been yet specified by a call to **DEF\_PHFIG**. So it isn't possible to save anything. you must call **DEF\_PHFIG** before any other layout action.

## EXAMPLE

```
#include <genlib.h>
main()
{
	/∗ Create a figure to work on  ∗/
	GENLIB_DEF_PHFIG("mycell");
	/∗ Place an instance ∗/
	GENLIB_PLACE("mymodel","firstinstance", NOSYM,0L,0L);
	/∗ Save all that on disk ∗/
	GENLIB_SAVE_PHFIG();
}
```
