## DESCRIPTION

**GENERAL\_NAME\_set1\_X509\_NAME()** creates a new GENERAL\_NAME of type GEN\_DIRNAME and populates it based on provided X509\_NAME *src* which can be NULL. *tgt* must not be NULL. If successful, *\*tgt* will be set to point to the newly created GENERAL\_NAME.

## RETURN VALUES

**GENERAL\_NAME\_set1\_X509\_NAME()** return 1 on success, 0 on error.

## HISTORY

**GENERAL\_NAME\_set1\_X509\_NAME()** was added in OpenSSL 3.4.
