## DESCRIPTION

Creates and initializes a DirectSound8 interface.

## PARAMS

*lpcGUID* **\[In\]**  Address of the **GUID** that identifies the sound device.

*ppDS* **\[Out\]**  Address of a variable to receive the interface pointer.

*pUnkOuter* **\[In\]**  Must be **NULL**.

## RETURNS

**Success:** **DS\_OK**

**Failure:** **DSERR\_ALLOCATED**, **DSERR\_INVALIDPARAM**, **DSERR\_NOAGGREGATION**, **DSERR\_NODRIVER**, **DSERR\_OUTOFMEMORY**
