## NAME

CGI::htmlEscape - Encodes HTML special chars.

## SYNOPSIS

**String htmlEscape(** *String x* **)**

## ARGUMENTS

**x** The un-encoded string

## DESCRIPTION

Converts '&', '\<' and '\>' to '&amp;', '&lt;' and '&gt;'. It does not convert '"' to '&quot;', which you will need to do manually for function attribute values.
